Encompasses development phases, technical and financial components, and critical interrelations among all stakeholders. Training extended to include public and private finance experts, with hands-on technical assistance from planning preparation to implementation and monitoring.
Designed an innovative modular and thin precast ECC slab system (3.4×2.4×0.12m) at a heavily trafficked Tampines intersection under the LTA and JTC Corporation project. ECC mixed with GGBS provides a decarbonization solution with higher performance. A ductile yet provides a high skid resistance pavement. Road reopened to traffic within two days. A solution with lower lifecycle cost, low carbon, and significantly extended service life in comparison with conventional pavement.
Investigation on high noise emission along several MRT lines in Singapore. Methodology included comparative study of rail corrugation, radius of railway tracks, train operations, track quality, and friction modification. Identified parameters contributing to high noise levels and proposed targeted improvements: rail roughness correction, gauge adjustment, friction modification, rail and wheel damping, and fastening system adjustments.
Design and construction of a continuous pavement made of 130mm thickness of Strain Hardening Cementitious Composites (SHCC) slab for road premises. The innovative design is to tackle existing long-term structural cracks and plastic deformation issues. Ultra-ductile SHCC mixed with GGBS delivers a long-lasting pavement performance with low-maintenance for heavy-vehicle industrial environments. Further, the modified SHCC is a low carbon construction material.
Collaborated with PricewaterhouseCoopers on a comprehensive commercial strategy for the ready-mix and precast concrete markets. Work included TAM/SAM/SOM market sizing, customer research to understand decision-making and buying factors, detailed price analysis for a selected product type, and a forward-looking product development roadmap identifying high-opportunity precast products based on market demand.
