The people behind
PAGI Initiative

A multidisciplinary team of researchers, engineers, and educators united by a shared commitment to advancing high-performance, agile green infrastructure for a sustainable built environment.

Leading the PAGI Initiative —

Dr.-Ing. Ali Bawono leads the Performance and Agile Green Infrastructure (PAGI) Initiative — a research and innovation platform advancing next-generation sustainable built environments. Based in Singapore, he bridges doctoral-level research with direct infrastructure delivery, combining deep materials science expertise with system-level thinking in sustainable transport and urban infrastructure.

He has held expert roles with the World Economic Forum, KFW Development Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Dornier Consulting International, contributing to major initiatives from policy design and system planning to the construction of varied infrastructure across Singapore, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Abu Dhabi.

His research in Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) for Electrified Roadway Electromobility was awarded Outstanding Research by Springer Nature. His paper on smart and clean electromobility won Best Paper at the Asia Australia Road Conference (AARC). He holds an international patent and several Technology Disclosures. A certified PMP, he excels at turning complex technical and policy challenges into actionable, sustainable outcomes.
